Bonnie’s passion for art exploded at age 6 when her grandmother allowed her to create her first oil painting.  Bonnie  pursued the study of art in and out of school.  This study lead to a National Scholastic “Golden Key” Award and a university scholarship to study art.  Bonnie turned down the art scholarship and studied nursing.  After graduation, her passion for art again became primary and she has pursued its study to the present day.

Some highlights of her adult study were with Paul Burry in Syracuse, NY resulting in a Juror’s Award and a profile article in Parade Magazine; with Jan Olsen for 4 years in Paris, France resulting in a show at The WICE Art Space (Paris); and with Richard Nelson for 10 years in Kula, HI, resulting in acceptances to many local and juried shows on Maui including the Hui No’eau and Art Maui.

artist’s statement . . . “Color interaction, luminosity and compositional design are primary in my art.  Capturing the positive beauty and natural spirituality of our world is my goal along with striving to create inner peace and positive emotion in my viewer.”
