Lynn Shue, Village Galleries -owner/director… We have lost an exceptional artist and friend. Joyce Clark passed away in January 2009. We will so miss her cheerful smile and constant encouragement.
Joyce was with the Gallery since the 70’s and always made her love for Maui, painting and friends her top priorities.

We will continue to proudly present original works and giclees by Joyce Clark as long as they are available. Her work will always bring joy to all who view it.

Large scale works by Joyce are included in the  permanent collection at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua Hotel, as well as numerous private collections worldwide.

Joyce Clark epitomizes the definition of a fine artist. She is of the school of hard work. Her professionalism is so admired by all. Knowing the technical steps is so imperative to building a good painting. Joyce puts a lifetime of love for art in each painting. With meticulous care and complete knowledge of her oil medium she creates water that stirs the soul, mountains that touch the sky and flowers so fragrant they seem to beckon you. Never is there a feeling of uneasiness or uncertainty when viewing her work. Using either brush or palette knife masterfully, Joyce expresses the moods and textures of Maui with such ease that everyone feels calm and peaceful as they experience one of Joyce's beautiful paintings. Having explored Maui's hidden reaches from seaside shores to upcountry trails with pools and waterfalls, Joyce paints a colorful cross-section of Maui's impressive beauty.
