Suzanne deCillia Village Galleries Maui
Her paintings are colorful, energetic and upbeat. Her style is strong, unique and difficult to pin down. It leans toward impressionistic, which can range from classical to nearly abstract. Color and composition are carefully guided.
Suzanne has hosted several one-woman shows throughout the Seattle area. Her work is currently featured at the Parallax Gallery in Startup, Washington, the Gaskill/Olson Gallery in Langley, Whidbey Island, Washington, the Village Gallery, in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, and the Camano Island Inn, on Camano Island, Washington.ÊHer work is shown in homes and galleries throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe.
As a fulltime artist, Suzanne deCillia paints from her studio in Snohomish, Washington and on Maui, Hawaii two months of the year. A native of the Evergreen State, deCillia has spent the last 40-plus years transforming her thoughts to canvas. People are her favorite subjects, although she also finds inspiration in beach scenes, landscapes and flowers.
Suzanne came from a family of artists and cannot remember when she was not painting or creating. She studied art at the University of Washington in the late 1950s, and after raising a family of three, she returned to school and full-time painting. Suzanne lives with her husband, Stan Wetzel, in Snohomish, Washington.
